Moonah Links Golf Club in has been created in ancient rolling sand dunes created "The Cups" region on the Mornington Peninsula. Moonah Links is the best of it. Designed by Thomson Wolveridge Perrett, the 18 hole "Open Course" at Moonah is a true links course.
From the first hole, the golfer quickly realizes that this is no typical course, tucked tightly between condos and designed within economics of scale. This course is larger than life, boasting mature stands of trees, roller coaster greens and bunkers in which you could easily hide a sport utility vehicle. Situated just over an hour’s drive from the Melbourne CBD on the Mornington Peninsula, the Dunes’ Championship Course, complemented by the new clubhouse (March ’99) with a dining area that caters for up to 160 guests. The Dunes course is unique to Victoria and probably Australia. It is set in gentle sand dunes adjacent Bass Strait and is generally regarded as Australia's closest example of the classic links of Ireland and Scotland. There is not a weak or uninteresting hole.
